Greetings from the President of Festa Italiana BENVENUTI: Quest’anno abbiamo programmato una splendida giornata per celebrare insieme a voi la 13esima Festa Italiana di Washington, DC. Il maestro del cerimoniale sarà il tenore Elio Scaccio che condividerà il palcoscenico con il gruppo di cantanti della scuola Duke Ellington e con soprano Amanda Beagle ed il suo gruppo musicale Ciao Bella. La sala di Casa Italiana sarà allestita come centro di cultura con informazioni sul Risorgimento e l’esperienza dell’immigrazione italiana in America. Al piano inferiore di Casa Italiana troverete un elegante ristorante con cibi di gusto italiano e dimostrazioni culinarie dal vivo. In vendita vi sarà anche un libro di ricette regionali. Girovagate per le strade di fronte alla chiesa, ripiene di bancarelle con ogni tipo di mercanzia, e godetevi gli spettacoli improvvisati dei nostri artisti ambulanti. Per concludere la giornata festiva, presenteremo al fortunato vincitore della nostra riffa il gran premio di due biglietti d'aereo andata e ritorno per Roma . Venite in gran numero e con tutta la famiglia per godervi questa giornata di festa e allegria. Siete tutti benvenuti!
WELCOME: We have a marvelous day planned for the 13th Annual Festa Italiana. Master of Ceremonies Tenor Elio Scaccio shares the stage with the Duke Ellington opera singers and former Miss Ohio Amanda Beagle’s band Ciao Bella. The Casa Italiana ballroom displays a cultural center of learning on the unification of Italy and Italian immigration to America. The Casa Italiana basement houses an elegant restaurant serving stuffed shell pasta complete with a live cooking demonstration and a must-have Italian region-by-region cookbook. Wander through our streets filled with merchants, vendors and artists. At the end of the day, we will present the grand prize winner of our raffle with a free pair of round trip airline tickets to Rome.
