Festa Italiana
Foundation of Washington, DC
The Festa Italiana Foundation of Washington, DC is a
private cultural organization that works to promote Italian culture and
tradition in the metropolitan Washington area, primarily through the
organization's main event, Festa Italiana.
The Festa Italiana -- which began in 1999 -- is an annual street
festival in the tradition of the storied festivals of cities such as
New York, Milwaukee, Chicago and Baltimore. Festa Italiana features
authentic Italian and Italian-American cuisine, live music, dancing,
art, crafts and much more.
Formed by three of Washington's major Italian-American community
organizations -- FIERI-DC, Holy
Rosary Church and the Italian
Cultural Society, the Festa Italiana is a great way for the
Italian-American community to come together. In doing so, we ensure the
preservation and promotion of Italian and Italo-American history and
culture, which is an important part of the cultural fabric of the
United States.
